About Plymouth Church Seattle
Plymouth has a church community heritage of social justice in Seattle that dates back to the late 1800s. We’re proud of the church community we’ve become. We invite you to be a part of faith community as Plymouth history continues to be written.
Open and Affirming Philosophy
When we say, “come as you are,” we mean it.
We are a diverse group of people. We are persons of different ages, education, races, abilities, sexual orientations, theological and political beliefs, socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. We celebrate and find strength in that diversity, and view it as a way to understand the inclusiveness of God.
We affirm that gay, lesbian, and bisexual persons are welcome within the Plymouth community upon making the same affirmation of faith that all other members make. We encourage gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and their loved ones, who are already loyal and active members and friends of Plymouth Church and the United Church of Christ, to share their talents, gifts, and energy in the liturgy, life, employment, and leadership of the congregation.

Our Purpose
Growing people of faith who participate in God’s work in the world.
Our Vision
Plymouth Church is a Christian Community open to the transforming Spirit of God.
Our Covenant
We covenant with one another to seek and to respond to the word and the will of God. We propose to walk together in God’s ways, made known and to be made known to us. We hold it to be the mission of the Church to witness to the Good News of God made known to us in Jesus Christ and to strive for truth, for justice, and for peace. As did our forebears, we depend upon the Holy Spirit to lead and to empower us. We pray for the coming of God’s Peace, and we look with faith to the triumph of righteousness and life.
