Middle School + Confirmation
A CHANCE TO SHARE IN THE LARGER CHRISTIAN STORY AND OUR PLACE IN THIS STORY
Grade 6-7: Learning how to grow as a community of seekers and believers, this group returns to a 2 year cycle to study the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures of the Bible; this time from the perspective of the curious, engaged young people of faith they are becoming.
Confirmation: Affirming Faith - the UCC Confirmation curriculum is well named! During this one year ministry 8th graders explore: God, The Bible, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, The Larger Church, God’s gifts, and our response. How?
- Through the arts and retreats!
- With adult mentors.
- By journaling,
- serving others,
- writing their own faith statement,
- participating in the Rite of Confirmation which affirms their baptism, and
- joining the church as full fledged community members.
